Scott Chandler and Jim Rand were both honoured at the recent Sport PEI 2015 Awards Banquet held on February 3, 2016.
Scott Chandler received a new award, the Inspiration Award for his long, storied gymnastics career which has seen him as a member of the National Team and also as the oldest competitive gymnasts at the Canadian Gymnastics Championship. He spoke eloquently of fighting against the odds when he accepted his award.
Jim Rand received the President’s Award which recognized his long-time contribution to amateur sport from establishing the Island Gymnastics Academy to being one of the highest trained coaches on PEI, to coaching several National Team athletes.
