Gymnastics PEI is pleased to welcome Freddy Martin as the new Technical Director. A long time coach, Freddy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position. He is a certified NCCP level 3 gymnastics coaches as well as hockey and volleyball.
Previously, Freddy ran clubs in Borden, Evangeline, and in Summerside. He still works with the Summerside Saultos club which he ran from 1998-2011, running their satellite programs.
Formerly a physical education teacher, Freddy was the PEISAA Gymnastics commissioner in the 1980s and the zone 2 physical education department head from 1988-2009.
As technical director, Freddy will be responsible for assisting with club development, supporting the women’s and men’s technical committees, overseeing the provincial team program, and organizing coach and judge training.
A big thank-you to Sharon Gareau, the former technical director, for all her years serving Gymnastics PEI and good luck as she takes on full-time responsibilities with her club.
